From 1994 to 1999 I worked as Education Director for CASES, an alternate to incarceration program in New York City. As Director I started an education program that intergrated art and technology to teach reading, writing and mathematics skills. We also did Community Service Projects. Below are two muals that I did collaborately with CASES, the Green Guerillas and artist Lisa Levinson. They are located in the community garden on 126th St. in Harlem.

In addition, this past year, Art in General and CASES continued their colloboration that I started when I was Director of the Education Unit, and completed a ceramic mural located at 346 Broadway with ceramic artist Sana Musasama, Antonia Perez (Education Director of Art in General), and the current Director of Education at CASES, TS Murphy. I documented the work and created the Web site at:  www.roysteele.com/mural.
